As the Holidays approach, excitement is in the air, and keeping students focused and active in the gym can be challenging. Why not channel that energy into games that are as fun as they are festive? Using Omnikin PE equipment, here are four engaging Holiday-themed games designed to get kids moving, working together, and having a blast.

1. Virus: Save the Holidays!

Equipment:

The “Grinch” is on the loose in this game (inspired by our Virus PE game), trying to ruin the holidays! Teams work together to stop the Grinch (represented by the Air Ball) by throwing festive “ornaments” (the Six or Super Balls) to tag him. The Grinch, however, is fast and tricky, dodging ornaments and trying to “infect” players with holiday mischief.

This high-energy game encourages teamwork, coordination, and quick reflexes. Plus, the Holiday theme makes it extra special!

2. Two Elves, One Snowball

Equipment:

In this fast-paced variation of our 2 Dogs for a Bone PE game, players transform into elves battling to secure the ultimate snowball (Outside Kin-ball Sport Ball). Each team uses their “candy cane” (the Super Ball) to push the snowball into their opponent’s house. This festive twist requires strategy, collaboration, and a bit of friendly competition.

Pro tip: Encourage students to cheer each other on with jolly Holiday chants for extra fun!

3. Santa’s Sleigh Corridor

Equipment:

Santa’s sleigh (the Kin-Ball) must make it from Point A to the North Pole without being dropped! Teams work together to keep the sleigh moving, navigating a tricky obstacle course of “snowdrifts” and “chimneys” while ensuring Santa’s precious cargo stays intact.

This game reinforces spatial awareness and teamwork while challenging students to think creatively to overcome obstacles. Want a non-themed version? Check out our PE activity, the Corridor!

4. The Leaning Candy Canes

Equipment:

Elves need to practice handling giant candy canes to ensure none of them break before they’re delivered! Players work in pairs or small groups to pass candy canes (pool noodles) back and forth without letting them fall to the ground. As the game progresses, add challenges like increasing the distance or introducing “wind” (a teammate waving their hands).

This activity builds coordination, concentration, and communication skills—and it’s full of Holiday cheer! This PE game for the Holidays is based on our Leaning Tower PE game.
